unexpected innovations

when I came home last night, my mum handed me this plastic container that looks like the one they store Kaya or Honey in. unfortunately though, this container didn't look as if have any Honey in it...it simply looked like a lot of cheap plastic melted together.

the label was no less forgiving. the genius who stuck the label probably didn't know the RIGHT WAY UP.

this was what the content looked like...a couple of smaller containers stacked up on each other in a larger container. I was puzzled at first...

and I was even more puzzled when I turned the container upside down to read the "conveniently upside down" label.

Rice Noodle (FLAT) with special sweet sauce and chilli sauce DOES not sound appealing at all. believe me...I wouldn't want to eat it if it were in a menu at a restaurant.

so I "released" the poor mini plastic containers from their mother. and that's when I finally figured out what it was.

CHEE CHEONG FUN LAH!!!

haiyo. all the hassle for chee cheong fun...not to mention the amount of chemicals and petrochemicals used to make the containers. these people are not environmentally friendly at all.

there was about 5 tiny pieces of 'FLAT RICE NOODLE' or chee cheong fun, complete with mini toothpicks...

the 'so called' special sweet sauce and chilli sauce that looked pretty oily...

plus sesame seeds and bawang goreng (fried onions)!!!

unfortunately though...when I wanted to try the chee cheong fun, it emitted a weird unappetizing stinky smell. so I gave it a pass. (I don't think it'll taste that good anyway. haha.)

but its a pretty good idea...(though it could use some *ahem* improvements) and I guess the idea is still undergoing some the testing stages because my mum got it free at some place.

plus it's Malaysian made. wahaha!

I wonder what they would come up with next. Spaghetti in a cup, maybe...or roti canai...or chicken chop and some soggy fries...or "Make it yourself burgers" or maybe the entire kitchen sink. what do you think?

I only hope it will taste as good as it looks. (but it doesn't look very good, so........)
okaylah I guess I should give some brownie points for the idea itself...after all it's not like I could have come up with this idea...so 5 gold stars to the person who invented this!

Malaysians are finally getting off their butts and doing something worthwhile!!!

this one most unappealing innovations Malaysians come up with... but i agree it's a good start.

P.S. I still prefer chee cheong fun with a lot of fun on a plate...
